The DNC sponsors numerous programs to bring residents of Demarest and the surrounding areas into closer contact with wildlife and the natural world.

In addition to public and school events and the development and maintenance of the grounds of the Nature Center, the Association provides subscriptions of nature and environmentally oriented publications to the Demarest Public Library.
It also makes occasional grants to the library for the purchase of environmentally oriented publications and videos. Scholarship awards have also been made to graduating seniors interested in the environmental sciences.

Reasons to Leash Your Dog
It’s a great good neighbor policy, preventing your dog from trespassing on the neighbor’s property during your walk. It also keeps your dog from jumping on people you encounter, ensuring that your dog has the chance of being properly introduced.
